Job Description Staff Safety Lead Setting/Hours:
On-Site| Full-time Join trak group in partnering with a growing client in Cincinnati, Ohio that's expanding its Manufacturing team. Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Staff Safety Lead to provide leadership and oversight of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs across multiple company facilities. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining safety programs, ensuring regulatory compliance, leading incident investigations, and partnering with operational leaders to create safe and compliant working environments. The ideal candidate brings significant EHS leadership experience in manufacturing, strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA requirements, and experience managing safety programs across multiple locations. This individual will serve as a key safety resource to leadership and employees while driving a proactive, prevention-focused safety culture. Key Responsibilities EHS Program Leadership & Compliance Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, programs, procedures, and standards across company facilities. Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Maintain required OSHA records and reporting, including Forms 300, 300A, and 301. Serve as the primary point of contact during regulatory inspections, audits, and other compliance activities. Monitor regulatory developments and help ensure company programs remain aligned with changing requirements. Support environmental compliance initiatives, including waste management, air permits, and stormwater programs. Safety Programs & Risk Management Manage and maintain key safety programs, including: Hazard Communication Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Machine Guarding Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Emergency Action Plans Conduct routine safety audits, facility inspections, and risk assessments. Evaluate safety risks within manufacturing, cleanroom, warehouse, and office environments. Lead ergonomics assessments and support implementation of improvements to reduce workplace injuries. Coordinate industrial hygiene monitoring programs and address identified exposure concerns. Partner with Facilities and Operations on equipment design, installation, process changes, and facility modifications to ensure safety requirements are incorporated from the beginning. Incident Investigation & Corrective Action Lead investigations of workplace incidents, injuries, near misses, and safety concerns. Conduct structured root cause analysis to identify underlying causes and contributing factors. Develop and oversee corrective and preventive action (CAPA) plans. Track corrective actions through completion and verify effectiveness. Analyze incident trends to identify recurring risks and opportunities for prevention. Partner with Human Resources to coordinate workers' compensation cases and return-to-work programs. Training & Safety Culture Develop and facilitate EHS training programs for new hires and existing employees. Ensure employees receive appropriate training based on job responsibilities, equipment, and workplace hazards. Promote employee participation in safety programs and continuous improvement initiatives. Lead or support safety committees and employee engagement activities. Develop recognition programs and other initiatives that reinforce positive safety behaviors. Serve as a visible safety leader and resource across company facilities. EHS Metrics & Continuous Improvement Monitor, analyze, and report key EHS performance indicators, including TRIR, near misses, incidents, and corrective actions. Identify trends and use safety data to prioritize improvement initiatives. Maintain accurate documentation within EHS management and incident tracking systems. Provide leadership with visibility into safety performance, risks, and corrective action progress. Identify opportunities to strengthen EHS processes, standardize programs across locations, and improve overall safety performance. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. 7+ years of progressive EHS leadership experience. Strong working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and state regulatory requirements. Experience managing EHS programs across multiple facilities or locations. Experience supporting safety within manufacturing or other industrial environments. Strong incident investigation and root cause analysis capabilities. Experience developing and implementing corrective and preventive actions. Knowledge of LOTO, machine guarding, Hazard Communication, PPE, emergency response, ergonomics, and industrial hygiene programs. Experience maintaining OSHA logs and regulatory documentation. Proficiency with EHS management systems, incident tracking software, and Microsoft Office. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate safety expectations with frontline employees, managers, and senior leadership. Ability to travel regularly between company facilities. They should have demonstrated experience owning multi-site EHS programs, leading investigations, conducting audits and risk assessments, implementing corrective actions, and maintaining compliance with OSHA and EPA requirements. The right candidate will also be proactive rather than reactive—using data, near-miss reporting, employee engagement, and continuous improvement to address risks before they result in incidents. This role is particularly well suited for someone who can establish consistent safety standards across multiple facilities while still understanding the unique operational needs of each location.
