This individual will oversee our current international factory relationships while helping establish a larger, stronger network of factories, mills, and suppliers to support our growing international production needs. This role serves as a critical link between our clients, internal teams, and the overseas factories producing their orders. Responsiveness, organization, follow-through, and proactive communication are essential. We expect emails to be acknowledged quickly, production information to be actively pursued, and clients to receive clear and accurate updates regarding dates and production status. The right person does not only track production—they drive production forward, anticipate problems, and take ownership from order placement through final shipment. Key Responsibilities Manage international apparel production from development handoff through bulk production and final shipment. Serve as a primary liaison between our clients, internal U.S. teams, and overseas factories. Manage and maintain strong relationships with our existing international production network. Continuously identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with new factories, mills, trim suppliers, and manufacturing partners. Expand our international manufacturing capabilities to support new clients, product categories, capacity requirements, and production needs. Maintain detailed and accurate WIP (Work-in-Progress) reports for all active international production orders. Manage production calendars, T&A schedules, critical paths, and factory delivery commitments. Provide clear and consistent updates regarding production status, approvals, expected completion dates, and shipment dates. Be extremely responsive with email and production communication , ensuring factories, clients, and internal teams receive timely answers and acknowledgment. Actively follow up with factories for updates rather than waiting for information to be provided. Proactively identify potential production delays, quality issues, or bottlenecks and work to resolve them before they impact delivery. Relay pertinent production information quickly and accurately between clients, internal teams, and factories. Manage multiple international production programs simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. Review and manage purchase orders to ensure quantities, pricing, specifications, and delivery dates are accurate. Negotiate factory pricing, production costs, MOQs, lead times, and terms. Track fabric, trims, labels, packaging, and other production components to ensure materials arrive according to schedule. Coordinate and track lab dips, strike-offs, trims, PP samples, TOP samples, and other production approvals. Work closely with Product Development and Technical Design to ensure styles are properly prepared for production. Ensure factories are following approved tech packs, BOMs, measurements, construction standards, and client requirements. Monitor production quality and coordinate inspections and QC prior to goods being released for shipment. Troubleshoot garment construction, fabric, trim, quality, costing, and production issues directly with factories. Monitor factory capacity and strategically allocate programs based on capabilities, pricing, quality, and delivery requirements. Coordinate with freight forwarders and logistics partners to ensure finished goods ship according to schedule. Maintain accurate costing, vendor, production, and shipment records. Provide management with clear visibility into the status of all international production. Hold factories accountable for committed pricing, quality standards, and delivery dates. Travel internationally to factories, mills, and suppliers as needed. Qualifications 5+ years of apparel production, manufacturing, and/or sourcing experience. Strong experience working directly with international apparel factories. Thorough understanding of garment construction, fabrics, trims, costing, and apparel production processes. Experience managing production calendars, WIP reports, and critical-path timelines. Strong factory negotiation and vendor-management skills. Experience managing multiple high-volume production programs simultaneously. Extremely organized with exceptional attention to detail. Highly responsive and comfortable working in an environment where communication and follow-through are critical. Strong sense of urgency and ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to independently identify and solve production problems without waiting for direction. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Existing relationships with international factories, mills, and suppliers are a major plus. Mandarin or other relevant language proficiency is a plus.
