Plant Engineer:
Taking charge of the maintenance and engineering department in a dynamic plant setting, the Plant Engineer will play a key role in maintaining high-quality building and equipment performance. By minimizing mechanical downtime and ensuring smooth product flow, you will keep our production lines operating at optimal efficiency. Your responsibilities will involve spearheading the development and implementation of advanced maintenance systems like Preventative and Predictive Maintenance, TPM, and others, propelling our plant towards greater success as part of a High Performing Manufacturing Organization. As the head of engineering activities, you will work towards maintaining our facilities at the forefront of food manufacturing processes, overseeing the execution of innovative technology projects. In this capacity, you will not only manage maintenance but also enhance it to achieve new levels of effectiveness and innovation! Job Duties & Responsibilities of the
Plant Engineer:
Responsibilities include overseeing capital projects from inception to completion. Effective management and scheduling of all project components to minimize disruption to plant operations, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety, food safety, and environmental standards. Leading the development and implementation of state-of-the-art maintenance systems to optimize plant performance. Contributing to Preventive and Predictive Maintenance, TPM, and other impactful strategies, ensuring efficient scheduling for maximum task completion with minimal downtime. Managing the maintenance team by assigning tasks, enforcing policies, and directing work assignments. Providing solutions to operational challenges by offering both short-term fixes and long-term resolutions, ensuring smooth plant operations on a daily basis. Driving continuous improvement through the development and monitoring of Key Performance Indicators that gauge maintenance function success.
Education & Experience Requirements of Plant Engineer:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Engineering or related field and 8+ years' relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. A minimum of 2 years of experience in team management/development or project leadership is required. Prior experience in Food Manufacturing. Background in Change Management. Demonstrated high-level skills in leadership, organizational planning, teamwork, analytical reasoning, and adaptability. Advanced technical expertise in mechanical/electrical fields (e.g. PLCs, instrumentation, mechanical engineering, etc.) with the ability to lead resource planning efforts in a large manufacturing setting. Thorough understanding of maintenance systems, work order processes, preventive/predictive maintenance, TPM, etc. Ability to utilize exposure monitoring equipment, interpret results, and communicate findings effectively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word. Ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely, both in written and verbal formats.
