Overview The Process Engineer supports the development, optimization, and control of manufacturing processes and production lines to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role works closely with operations, safety, quality, and maintenance teams to improve line performance, enhance equipment efficiency, troubleshoot issues, validate new machinery, analyze data to improve yield and reduce costs and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Key skills include, but are not limited to, mechanical/chemical engineering, automation, and continuous improvement methods like Lean/Six Sigma. Key Responsibilities Process Optimization & Control

• Analyze and improve aerosol filling, crimping, propellant charging, and packaging processes.
• Develop and maintain process parameters, SOPs, and work instructions.
• Implement statistical process control (SPC) and other data-driven tools to reduce variability and improve yield.
• Identify bottlenecks and lead projects to increase throughput and reduce downtime. Troubleshooting & Technical Support
• Provide on-the-floor engineering support for production lines.
• Investigate root causes of quality or performance issues using structured problem-solving methods (5 Why, Fishbone, DMAIC).
• Collaborate with maintenance to resolve equipment failures and improve reliability. Continuous Improvement
• Lead Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen initiatives to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
• Evaluate new technologies, equipment upgrades, and automation opportunities.
• Support cost-reduction projects related to materials, propellants, and process efficiency. Quality & Compliance
• Ensure processes comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards (OSHA, EPA, DOT, FDA if applicable).
• Partner with Quality to maintain product specifications, conduct process validations, and support audits.
• Monitor critical quality attributes such as crimp integrity, fill weight accuracy, pressure stability, and leak rates. Project Management
• Help with cross-functional projects from concept through implementation.
• Prepare technical reports, process documentation, and capital expenditure proposals.
• Coordinate trials for new products, formulations, and packaging components. Qualifications Education
• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field. Experience
• 2+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing; aerosol or liquid filling/packaging experience strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with propellant systems (LPG, DME, compressed gases) is a plus. Skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies. Lean and/or Six Sigma certification preferred.
• Experience with PLC-controlled equipment and automated filling lines.
• Proficiency with CAD, process modeling, and data analysis tools. Core Competencies

Pay:

$90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
