Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer

Job Description

About the Role As a Quality Assurance Engineer for Supplier Operations, you will serve as the critical bridge between our production floor and external partners to ensure material excellence. You will drive long-term process stability and minimize supply chain disruptions by leveraging your expertise in quality systems and technical problem-solving. Responsibilities Oversee supplier performance metrics, focusing on quality ratings, delivery reliability, and cost-of-quality improvements. Facilitate rapid resolution of production-impacting quality issues through structured methodologies like 8D, A3, and 5-Why analysis. Execute comprehensive supplier audits and process assessments to ensure adherence to rigorous quality standards. Manage the PPAP and APQP approval workflows to guarantee that all components meet launch readiness and design specifications. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement robust error-proofing (poka-yoke) and process controls at supplier facilities. Verify the effectiveness of corrective actions to prevent recurrence of defects and maintain continuous improvement. Ensure full compliance with
IATF 16949, ISO
9001, and specific customer quality mandates. Required Skills Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline. 3+ years of experience in supplier quality, manufacturing, or production engineering. Proficiency in automotive core tools including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA. Strong ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T specifications. Preferred Skills Hands-on experience with machining processes and supplier development. Advanced proficiency in ERP systems and quality data analysis software. Proven track record in leading supplier audits and quality improvement initiatives.
