Job Description

Position Duties:
Analyze and improve automotive manufacturing processes to increase productivity, efficiency, quality, and safety. Develop and optimize manufacturing layouts, production lines, workstations, material flow, and equipment utilization. Conduct time studies, line balancing, capacity analysis, and labor utilization studies. Develop standard work instructions, process documentation, and manufacturing procedures. Identify and eliminate waste using Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and continuous-improvement methodologies. Support production launch activities, including new vehicle programs, tooling, equipment, and process implementation. Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, quality, maintenance, logistics, and production teams to resolve process issues. Analyze production data and key performance indicators to identify opportunities for cost reduction and productivity improvement. Develop capital equipment requirements, business cases, and return-on-investment analyses. Coordinate equipment installation, commissioning, process validation, and production ramp-up. Optimize material handling, inventory flow, line-side delivery, and plant logistics. Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for manufacturing problems. Apply ergonomics principles to improve workstation design, operator safety, and efficiency. Develop and maintain manufacturing process documentation, PFMEAs, process flow diagrams, and related engineering standards. Support capacity planning, production scheduling, and manpower requirements. Use CAD, simulation, data-analysis, and manufacturing-engineering software to evaluate and improve processes. Work with suppliers and equipment manufacturers to develop and implement production systems and tooling. Monitor project schedules, budgets, and deliverables to ensure successful implementation. Ensure manufacturing processes comply with company standards, safety requirements, and applicable automotive quality systems. Lead or participate in cross-functional continuous-improvement projects focused on cost, quality, delivery, safety, and productivity. Develop layouts to optimize space and labor requirements. Develop material kits with plant IE's, production and production control team. Develop material storage area layout. Follow up and get buy-off on concepts and layouts. Develop facilities requirements.
Skills and Experience Required:
Must have 2 or more years of Industrial/Manufacturing engineering experience. Knowledgeable in Lean Manufacturing principles. Must know AutoCAD; Microsoft Access knowledge is preferred. Automotive experience is a plus. Must be a team player, pro-active and be able to perform under limited supervision.
