Job Description

Job Description Insight Global is assisting a client in finding a Supplier Quality Engineer to support supplier performance, quality initiatives, and manufacturing process improvements across a network of North American suppliers. This role works directly with suppliers to ensure consistent product quality, drive corrective actions, conduct audits, and support new product introductions within a mechanical manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate has experience working with metal fabrication, machining, forming, or other mechanical manufacturing processes and is comfortable spending significant time onsite at supplier locations.

Responsibilities
  • Lead supplier qualification and manufacturing process validation activities for new and existing products.
  • Conduct regular supplier audits and assessments to evaluate compliance, identify risks, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with suppliers to resolve quality issues using root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why, and FMEA.
  • Monitor supplier quality performance metrics and implement improvement plans when needed.
  • Support Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities and ensure supplier readiness for production.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and sourcing teams to improve manufacturing quality and supplier capabilities.
  • Review and investigate customer and product quality concerns, ensuring effective corrective actions are implemented and sustained.
  • Manage multiple supplier quality projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and business objectives.
  • Travel regularly to supplier facilities throughout the U.
S., Canada, and Mexico.

Additional Information
  • Hybrid schedule: 2-3 days onsite per week
  • Travel to Suppliers around USA, Mexico and Canada Skills and Requirements
  • 3-5+ years of Supplier Quality Engineering experience within a mechanical manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with manufacturing processes such as machining, metal forming, fabrication, assembly, casting, or related mechanical production methods.
  • Hands-on experience conducting supplier audits and driving supplier development initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of quality methodologies and tools including:o APQPo FMEAo Lean Manufacturingo Six Sigmao 8Do 5 Whyo MSAo DFM
  • Experience managing supplier corrective actions and resolving customer or product quality issues.
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Stable work history demonstrating progressive responsibility.
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 70%.
  • Project management experience with the ability to lead multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Experience supporting new product introductions and manufacturing process qualification.
  • ASQ, Six Sigma, or related quality certifications.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience working with suppliers across North America.
