The company is expanding its industrial piping business, supporting projects across sectors such as data centers, warehouses, water and wastewater, and other industrial markets. About the
Role Location:
Remote, U.S. (East Coast or Midwest preferred)
Travel:
20-30% nationwide This is a strategic, relationship-driven sales position and the first dedicated sales hire for the growing Industrial Piping division. The focus is on developing high-quality relationships with general contractors, building a strong sales pipeline, and securing new project opportunities rather than high-volume cold calling. You will work closely with division leadership and the technical team to develop business, maintain client relationships, and support opportunities throughout the project lifecycle. Responsibilities Day-to-Day Responsibilities Develop and cultivate relationships with mid-sized general contractors that regularly rely on subcontractors for industrial and commercial construction projects. Identify new business opportunities and establish relationships with prospective GC clients, positioning the company as a preferred subcontractor when projects become available. Manage the sales pipeline, from initial outreach and client meetings through proposals, negotiations, and project awards. Maintain consistent communication with key accounts to understand upcoming project needs and strengthen long-term partnerships. Serve as the primary business development and client relationship contact, coordinating with the division's technical leadership for engineering and project-specific discussions. Collaborate with internal leadership and project management teams to ensure a smooth transition from the sales process through project execution. Remain engaged throughout the project lifecycle, from initial proposal through active project management and completion. Travel approximately 20-30% nationwide to meet clients, develop relationships, and pursue new business opportunities. Qualifications Engineering or other technical background is a plus; however, this is a sales-focused position rather than a hands-on engineering role. Required Skills Demonstrated success in a sales, business development, or strategic account management role within the industrial or construction industry. Strong understanding of the general contracting environment, including large construction contracts, project schedules, subcontractor relationships, and GC purchasing and preconstruction processes. Proven ability to develop new client relationships, generate project opportunities, manage a sales pipeline, and close business. Construction-related sales experience, particularly within mechanical, HVAC, electrical, fire protection, or industrial contracting, is highly relevant. Industrial piping experience is preferred but not required for candidates with a strong construction sales background and established GC relationships. Ability to communicate effectively with general contractors, understand their project needs, and position subcontracting services as a valuable solution. Comfortable with 20-30% travel throughout the United States; candidates located on the East Coast or in the Midwest are preferred. Entrepreneurial, relationship-oriented approach with the ability to help grow a developing business division. Apply now See more open positions at Prosimo.io
