•This role requires some dual reporting responsibility with the employer's Miami, FL location. Position Summary Perform maintenance manual-level inspection, repair, and/or overhaul of wide-body aircraft engines and related powerplant components in accordance with current FAA regulations, approved data, OEM technical publications, company procedures, and published work scopes. The Powerplant Technician supports safe, compliant, and efficient production by maintaining accurate records, following quality and safety requirements, troubleshooting technical issues, and contributing to continuous improvement across repair station operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Read, interpret, and apply instructions from current approved data, OEM manuals, service bulletins, work scopes, and company procedures. Perform inspection, disassembly, repair, assembly, testing support, preservation, and documentation activities for assigned powerplant work. Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection documentation, and applicable forms in accordance with FAA, customer, and company requirements. Follow all safety, quality, tool control, calibration, material handling, foreign object debris prevention, and housekeeping requirements. Identify nonconforming conditions, support troubleshooting, and communicate technical findings clearly to supervision, inspection, engineering, and quality personnel as needed. Support continuous improvement, on-time delivery, and team-based production goals while maintaining compliance and workmanship standards. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Prior MRO, repair station, engine shop, or equivalent aviation maintenance experience preferred. FAA Powerplant certificate required, or active enrollment in an approved path to obtain the certificate, as applicable to assigned work. Strong working knowledge of applicable FAA regulations, repair station requirements, approved data, and maintenance documentation practices. Large-engine, component repair, overhaul, or heavy maintenance experience preferred. Able to read, understand, and follow OEM manuals, technical instructions, drawings, service bulletins, and work instructions. Able to maintain accurate records and use Microsoft Office, Outlook, and web-based maintenance or business systems. Able to work in a fast-paced operational environment with changing priorities while maintaining safety, quality, and compliance standards. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English as required for FAA-regulated maintenance work. Positive attitude, strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a team environment. Occasional field service work, overtime, and travel may be required based on business needs.
