In this role, you'll bridge the gap between engineering concepts and physical execution—bringing next-generation sensors and electromechanical systems to life. Key Responsibilities Prototyping & Machining:
Set up and operate CNC/manual machine shop tools (lathes, mills) to fabricate high-precision prototype parts and custom fixtures.
PCB Rework & Assembly:
Perform high-reliability PCB rework, electrical debugging, and fine-pitch soldering (SMT and through-hole).
Testing & Validation:
Conduct rigorous reliability and environmental testing (thermal, shock, vibration) and document engineering test reports.
NPI & Production Support:
Serve as the technical bridge between R&D and Manufacturing to ensure smooth new product introduction (NPI) handoffs.
Lab Management:
Maintain the R&D lab in a safe, tour-ready condition, manage consumable inventories, and maintain equipment.
Qualifications Education:
Associate degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical/Electromechanical Engineering Technology, or equivalent military/trade experience.
Experience:
3+ years of hands-on experience in an R&D lab, rapid-prototyping shop, or precision manufacturing environment.
Technical Skills:
Proven manual and CNC machining proficiency. Strong precision soldering, harness assembly, and PCB rework skills. Ability to read complex mechanical drawings, GD&T, and electrical schematics. Proficiency with precision metrology tools (calipers, micrometers). Nice-to-Haves Experience with 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor). Familiarity with
ISO 9001
compliance and sensor-industry testing protocols. Experience with 3D printing and DAQ systems (e.g., LabVIEW).
