Mechanical Technician I Fall River, WI $20-$25/hour Temp-to-Hire 1st

Monday-Friday, 5:00 AM-1:30 PM About the Role We are looking for a Mechanical Technician I to support the maintenance and day-to-day upkeep of a manufacturing facility. This is a hands-on position focused on general facility maintenance, preventative maintenance, filtration, equipment support, and maintaining a clean and safe plant environment. You will work closely with experienced maintenance team members while completing assigned work orders and scheduled preventative maintenance tasks. This is a strong opportunity for someone with mechanical aptitude and general maintenance experience who wants to continue developing their industrial maintenance skills. Key Responsibilities Perform minor repairs and general preventative maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems Support maintenance of production and non-production equipment Assist with scheduled preventative maintenance checks and routine maintenance tasks Help identify and address mechanical issues with plant equipment Operate and maintain floor sweepers and scrubbers Complete daily work logs and document assigned work orders and project status Maintain the general condition and appearance of the facility Follow plant and workplace safety standards Work closely with maintenance leadership and other team members on assigned projects Perform additional maintenance duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent At least 2 years of general maintenance experience , ideally within a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with a variety of equipment Ability to read blueprints Basic math skills Ability to use handheld measuring tools Comfortable using basic computer systems related to the job Ability to follow instructions and learn new skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks Effective verbal and written communication skills Willingness to take on additional responsibilities and work as part of a team Ability to work flexible hours when required Preferred Qualifications Associate degree in Industrial Technology, Mechanical Technology, or a related field Previous maintenance experience in a metal fabrication environment Equipment & Tools This position may involve the use of: Forklifts Measurement devices Wrenches and screwdrivers Aerial work platforms Hand tools Power tools Safety Requirements Employees working in the production area are required to wear appropriate PPE, including safety glasses with side shields, hearing protection, and steel-toe footwear with metatarsal guards . Regular prescription glasses alone do not meet the safety-glasses requirement.
