Engineering Manager Summary:
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and optimizing manufacturing processes, designing production fixtures and equipment, and ensuring the efficient and high-quality production of our products. Your expertise and contributions will play a critical role in driving operational efficiency, quality, and innovation in our manufacturing operations. Responsibilities:
Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for production Design and implement manufacturing fixtures, tools, and equipment to improve productivity and quality Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineers, quality assurance, and production personnel, to ensure smooth production operations Perform process validations and create necessary documentation, including work instructions and standard operating procedures Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure cost-effectiveness Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for process or product non- conformances. Monitor and analyze production data to identify trends, performance issues, and opportunities for improvement Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve any quality or production issues Participate in new product introduction activities, including process design, tooling selection, and production ramp-up Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements Other duties as assigned Experience Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing engineer role, preferably in the aerospace industry Proven track record of implementing process improvements and driving operational efficiency Experience in the production of advanced power systems batteries or avionics highly desirable
Required Skills:
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, such as machining, assembly, soldering, and testing. Proficiency in CAD software for designing manufacturing fixtures and equipment (i.e. Solidworks) Familiarity with quality management systems, such as ISO 9001 or AS9100. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a data-driven approach Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross- functional teams Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on meeting production deadlines Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work Preferred Skills Familiarity with automation in manufacturing processes Understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles Experience with lean manufacturing principles and practices Familiarity with aerospace industry standards and regulations Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and Six Sigma methodologies Education Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or another Engineering discipline ITAR Requirements To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by ITAR (22 CFR§120.15) or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. Other Requirements Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check. Must be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
