Our teams focus on safety, quality and responsive customer service. Position Overview We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with strong, hands-on CNC machining experience to help standardize and improve manufacturing processes at our Melrose Park facility. This role combines CNC programming and process documentation with practical work on the shop floor. You will work closely with shop leads, experienced machinists and the process engineering team to establish repeatable machining methods, improve cycle times and develop standard CNC programs across part families. An engineering degree or equivalent CNC programming experience is required. Candidates with extensive CNC mill and lathe setup and programming experience are encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities Develop and refine standard operation sequences for manufacturing part families. Define and document machining methods, including toolpath strategies, tooling, work holding, feeds and speeds, and stock allowances between operations. Develop and maintain a library of standard CNC programs in Mastercam across machines and part families. Work directly with shop leads and senior machinists to capture proven machining practices and convert them into clear, operation-level work instructions. Prove out CNC programs, troubleshoot machining issues and improve processes on the shop floor. Validate and improve cycle times, supporting the progression of manufacturing routers from reviewed to approved status. Standardize fixturing and work holding by part family and machine. Review new part drawings for manufacturability and identify risks involving tolerances, surface finishes and materials before production release. Mentor early-career engineers and coach team members in CNC setup, programming and machining fundamentals. Evaluate tooling, machine capabilities and manufacturing technologies, and recommend investments that improve production performance. Required Qualifications At least eight years of CNC machining experience, including hands-on mill and lathe setup and programming. An engineering degree or equivalent CNC programming experience. Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Experience machining tight-tolerance components in stainless steel, alloy steels or nickel alloys. Direct experience coaching team members in a manufacturing environment. Ability to translate shop-floor machining knowledge into clear, repeatable processes and work instructions. Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to collaborate with machinists, shop leads and engineers. Preferred Qualifications Proficiency in Mastercam. Why Join PSG? Join a skilled team performing critical work for the power generation and industrial sectors. PSG offers a safety-focused, collaborative environment, opportunities to expand your technical expertise, and varied, challenging precision-machining projects.
