Reviews project requirements to determine appropriate formats, design criteria, and deliverable content. Promotes quality, accuracy, and consistency across projects, teams, groups, and technical disciplines. Reviews design inputs, drawings, and technical documentation to ensure alignment with project requirements and established standards. Ensures project deliverables comply with applicable engineering codes, standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements. Contributes to the continuous improvement of design guides, standards, procedures, and workflows. Participates in and may lead process improvement, operational enhancement, and change management initiatives. Manages drawing control processes and maintains accurate historical project records and documentation. Applies engineering principles, technical knowledge, and established design practices to develop and resolve complex designs. Exercises sound technical judgment when interpreting project inputs, resolving design issues, and making deliverable-related decisions. Performs complex technical assignments and provides technical guidance, mentoring, and support to other design professionals. Performs design calculations, material quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, technical documentation, and related engineering design activities. Reviews design deliverables prepared by other professionals to ensure quality, technical accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable standards. Coordinates presentations, production design activities, and the effective use of electronic design and engineering tools. Monitors design and production activities to help ensure consistency with project requirements, budgets, schedules, and quality expectations. May support programming and configuration of control systems or provide technical support during plant start-up activities within the individual's area of expertise. Coordinates with other design and engineering disciplines to exchange technical information and support effective design development. Provides technical support for field activities, site visits, inspections, and project execution as required. Communicates project design requirements, technical progress, deliverable status, and schedules to relevant stakeholders. Assists in identifying key client interests, priorities, and business drivers and communicates these requirements to project team members. Supports the development of design approaches that effectively address client expectations. Assists discipline or department management in developing, implementing, and communicating appropriate design standards, processes, and continuous improvement initiatives. Identifies training and professional development needs for supervised personnel and supports initiatives to enhance team capabilities and technical performance. Serves as a recognized subject matter expert in one or more areas of technical or design expertise and may be assigned specialized projects or complex technical challenges. Provides technical expertise on design teams focused on resolving specific design issues or delivering critical project assignments. Prepares and delivers technical presentations and conducts training sessions within areas of specialized expertise.
Education Required:
Associate Degree in Drafting, Engineering Design Technology, or a related engineering design discipline.
Preferred:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Design Technology or a related engineering design discipline. Experience Typically, a minimum of 11 years of relevant professional experience in engineering design, drafting, or a related technical discipline.
Pay:
$95,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
