We are seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Controls Engineer to design, develop, implement, and support industrial automation and control systems. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs , robotic systems , and HMI development , along with the ability to lead automation projects from concept through commissioning. Experience with Ignition SCADA is highly desirable. Key Responsibilities
- Design, program, test, and troubleshoot industrial control systems.
- Develop and maintain PLC programs using Allen-Bradley (Rockwell Automation) platforms, including ControlLogix, CompactLogix, and Studio 5000.
- Design, configure, and support HMI applications for machine and process automation.
- Integrate and troubleshoot industrial robotic systems and automation equipment.
- Lead and/or manage automation and controls projects, including scope development, scheduling, budgeting, and execution.
- Develop electrical and controls architecture for new equipment and production lines.
- Coordinate with operations, maintenance, vendors, and project stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
- Support equipment commissioning, startup, validation, and ongoing optimization.
- Create and maintain control system documentation, including I/O lists, functional specifications, wiring diagrams, and operating procedures.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for equipment and process issues.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and industry standards. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field. Equivalent experience will be considered.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience designing and supporting industrial control systems.
- Strong proficiency with Allen-Bradley PLC programming and troubleshooting.
- Experience developing and supporting HMI applications .
- Experience integrating and supporting robotic automation systems .
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects and manage multiple priorities in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel occasionally for project support, commissioning, and vendor coordination. Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Ignition SCADA platform development and deployment.
- Experience with industrial networking including Ethernet/IP, Modbus, and OPC-UA.
- Knowledge of servo motion control systems, VFDs, and machine safety systems.
- Experience with electrical panel design and schematics.
- PMP, CAP, or other automation/project management certifications are a plus. Desired Competencies
