Full Job Description Duties and Responsibilities:
This position reports directly to the business owner and will interact closely with our international suppliers, purchasing department, and sales team. Collaborate with our sales team to develop design changes to improve performance of products. Perform accurate/reliable hand and laser scanning measurements to aid in the reverse engineering of steel cast products. Interpret scan measurements and existing component geometry to establish appropriate nominal dimensions. Learn or use existing knowledge on how to process a scan file into a 3D model (STEP / SolidWorks), and then a model into a controlled engineering drawing. Review drawings for manufacturability, inspection capability, dimensional completeness, and compliance to meet company standards. Collaborate with suppliers on technical related matters, manufacturing, and quality control processes to resolve discrepancies and clarify design requirements. Maintain rev control and documentation for models, drawings, scan files, and engineering records. Create "customer facing" technical summaries, presentations, and site visit reports. Create SOPs for product finishing/labeling/packaging. Manages the product catalog database, ensuring classifications, weights, and other physical attributes are accurate. Attends, and on occasion, leads meetings to ensure new/existing products are on schedule. Performs site visits within the US as required (10%) Perform other tasks as dictated by business needs.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or 5+ years relevant experience. Proficiency in SolidWorks and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) Knowledge of Metallurgy is desirable Experience in product design and development is desirable Experience with the Artec Studio Suite is desirable
Pay:
$90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
