Position Explanation:

Setup machines, generate & proof programs, provide technical leadership for production systems and process improvements, with a focus on safety, quality, cost, throughput, and cycle time. Collaborate with customers and internal teams to plan, coordinate, and execute technical projects from concept through completion. Develop and implement detailed project plans and provide technical direction for process improvements, equipment installation and modification, tooling and fixture development, and material or production system improvements.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to manage several technical projects and troubleshoot critical production issues simultaneously. Strong manufacturing methodologies and continuous improvement background. Strong work ethic, attention to detail, written & oral communication skills.

Education and Experience:

10+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing and engineering, with demonstrated success in technical problem solving, manufacturing process development, and project leadership. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related discipline preferred. An equivalent combination of education, technical training, and relevant manufacturing experience may be considered.

Work Environment:

General manufacturing/factory environment, including regular interaction with production personnel, equipment, and manufacturing operations. Accountability & Direction from : Works independently with significant decision making authority. Responsible for providing technical direction and driving projects to successful completion. Effectively prioritizes short and long term objectives and manages competing demands while keeping management informed of significant issues, risks, and project progress.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Lead engineering and manufacturing projects from initial concept through successful completion, including project planning, scheduling, coordination, and execution. Plan, direct, and coordinate manufacturing processes and production activities to achieve safety, quality, cost, efficiency, and delivery objectives. Develop and optimize manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, and production methods to improve productivity and reduce costs. Review engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, and customer requirements to ensure manufacturability and project success. Coordinate engineering, machining, purchasing, quality, and production activities to meet project schedules and customer requirements. Serve as a primary technical and project contact for assigned customers, communicating project status and resolving technical issues. Monitor project costs, labor, materials, schedules, and milestones; identify and address risks or issues that may impact successful completion. Troubleshoot complex manufacturing and production issues and implement effective, sustainable solutions. Support estimating and quoting activities by providing technical input, process requirements, labor estimates, and manufacturing recommendations. Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to machinists, engineers, and production personnel. Manage engineering changes and customer revisions while evaluating impacts to cost, schedule, quality, and production. Lead and support continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, automation, and other initiatives that improve overall shop performance.

Pay:

$90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
