Job Description

GE Vernova seeks a CNC Manufacturing Engineer for the weekend shift to support precision component production for advanced energy systems. In this hands-on role, you will program, set up, and optimize CNC machining processes, interpret complex drawings, and ensure parts meet demanding quality, safety, and reliability standards. You'll drive root-cause problem solving, continuous improvement, and tooling strategy while collaborating with design, quality, and maintenance teams. Working in a mission-driven, safety-focused environment, you'll help industrialize parts that power the global energy transition. Responsibilities Program, set up, and operate CNC equipment to produce precision components for energy systems Develop and optimize machining processes for safety, quality, throughput, and cost Interpret engineering drawings, models, and specifications to define machining methods and tooling Troubleshoot machining issues and implement corrective actions to reduce downtime and scrap Collaborate with design, quality, and maintenance teams to resolve production issues Perform first-article and in-process inspections using gauges and measurement tools Create and maintain CNC programs, tooling libraries, and standardized work instructions Support continuous improvement, lean initiatives, and root-cause problem solving on weekend shift Ensure compliance with safety, EHS, and quality standards in a high-energy manufacturing environment Train and support operators/technicians on CNC best practices and equipment usage Required Skills CNC programming (Fanuc/Siemens or similar) CNC machine setup and operation GD&T and engineering drawing interpretation CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, NX, or similar) Cutting tool selection and optimization Metrology and precision measurement Process engineering and documentation Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement Root cause analysis and problem solving (8 D, DMAIC) Manufacturing in energy or heavy industrial environment
