The Manufacturing Engineer is a key contributor to Steel & O?Brien?s operational success, responsible for driving innovation, efficiency, and continuous improvement within our manufacturing processes for our data center cooling (DCC) business. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows, enhance product quality, and ensure the highest operational standards are met.

Primary Functions:
Analyze and refine existing manufacturing processes to identify and implement standardized procedures that enhance production efficiency, quality, and consistency. Collaborate with production teams to optimize manufacturing processes Develop comprehensive manufacturing process documentation, including work instructions and process flow charts, to ensure consistency and quality. Ensure that all manufacturing operations comply with strict quality control standards, actively participating in root cause analysis and the implementation of corrective measures Implement manufacturing engineering services pertaining to robotic welders, T drills, auto welders, orbital welders, and fixturing to assist with fabrication, welding and polishing operations, such as design of fixtures and tooling; streamlining the build process; and incorporating automation Other duties as assigned
Primary Competencies:
A proactive problem-solving mindset to drive operational improvements Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor CAD/CAM software Familiarity with lean manufacturing and other continuous improvement techniques Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly document processes and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, ensuring precision in all aspects of the role. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for process documentation and reporting Team player ? willing to jump in and help whenever it is needed

BS degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent industry experience Two or more years of experience in manufacturing engineering and/or continuous improvement within an industrial environment, ideally in precision manufacturing or stainless steel Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and other continuous improvement methodologies a plus Ability to learn and work within our Microsoft BC ERP system is required. Must be able to perform the physical demands of the job such as: Safely navigating a manufacturing environment Ability to use office, phone and computer equipment Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, push, pull, and twist
