Description Position Summary We are seeking a Senior NPD Design Engineer to serve as the technical leader of the Product Development team in the engineering department. In this pivotal role, you will own the end-to-end evolution of our next-generation product lines, driving innovation in positive displacement gear and screw pump technologies. You will act as the primary liaison between Business Development, QA, and Operations, ensuring that every design is optimized for performance, quality, and manufacturability. Working in close partnership with the Director of Engineering and the Test System Engineering Manager, you will translate complex market requirements into precision-engineered realities, shaping the future of our product portfolio and market presence. Principal Activities Lead the end-to-end design process, creating 3D CAD models (SolidWorks/Creo) and 2D detailed drawings.

Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and engineering calculations to ensure safety factors and performance.

Coordinate Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R) testing to validate new product designs.

Conduct DFMEA (Design Failure Modes & Effects Analysis) and Risk Analyses to identify and design out potential failures.

Drive Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) to minimize cost and cycle time while maintaining high quality.

Oversee prototype fabrication and iterative testing (functional, reliability, and durability testing).

Create and maintain technical documentation, including BOMs, ECOs (Engineering Change Orders), and design specifications.

Support the shop floor by troubleshooting manufacturing and assembly issues on new products.

Research new manufacturing methods, materials, and technologies to drive cost reductions and performance improvements.

Performs Pre- and Post-sale customer support as required.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge Skills & Abilities Working knowledge of Solid Edge, SolidWorks, and PTC Creo, or equivalent

Working knowledge of simulation software such as SolidWorks Sim and Ansys

Working knowledge of materials, coatings, and engineered materials (Required)

Working knowledge of IFS (MRP/ERP system) or similar.

Experience with BOM structuring and modification

Strong working knowledge of

ASME Y14.5 GD&T

Ability to work on cross-functional teams in the context of complex technical projects.

Ability to serve as a project or team leader when required by the task or situation, while modelling appropriate positive influence and consensus building skills.

Ability to create and present design, testing and other technical reports.

Working knowledge of Lean as applied to both Engineering and Manufacturing processes including Six Sigma, Kaizen, DFMEA, PPAP, VA/VE, PFMEA, etc.

Knowledge of foundry, machine shop and fabrication practices

Ability to travel (10% Domestic & International). Education & Experience BS in Mechanical Engineering.

7 - 10 years of Design Engineering experience on industrial equipment (ideally fluids or rotating machinery related)
