Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op
Job Description
As a Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op, you will support a variety of engineering and manufacturing initiatives, including: Lead efforts to review and update tolerancing on released assembly drawings using SolidWorks. Collaborate with Quality, Design Engineering, and Production teams to ensure engineering changes are fully vetted, documented, and compliant with customer requirements. Support manufacturing technicians in identifying and implementing process improvements that enhance production efficiency, quality, and overall performance. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and problem-solving activities. Collect, analyze, and interpret manufacturing and process data using Minitab, Microsoft Excel, and other analytical tools. Identify trends, investigate issues, and provide data-driven recommendations to support informed decision-making. Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including: Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Work Instructions Process Flow Diagrams Process and Engineering Documentation Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Work Instructions Process Flow Diagrams Process and Engineering Documentation Assist with the maintenance, calibration, and optimization of manufacturing equipment to ensure reliable operation and performance. Support ongoing production activities and engineering projects. Work closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Operations, Production, and R D teams to support business objectives and improve manufacturing processes. Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards. Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in: Manufacturing Engineering Mechanical Engineering Industrial Engineering Or a related engineering discipline Manufacturing Engineering Mechanical Engineering Industrial Engineering Or a related engineering discipline Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and production environments. Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD. Familiarity with statistical analysis and data-driven problem-solving techniques. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Eagerness to learn and contribute in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. Previous co-op, internship, or project experience in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies. Experience working with ERP systems or manufacturing software. SolidWorks certification or advanced CAD experience is a plus.
