Job Description

About
XPAK XPAK
Robotics is a fast-growing designer and manufacturer of custom robotic and mechanical end-of-line packaging automation systems. Every system we deliver is engineered to the specific needs of the customer — there are no off-the-shelf solutions here. Our team is small, technically driven, and moving quickly. Job Summary We're looking for a hands-on Production Manager to lead our shop floor, where engineered designs become working machines. You'll own the build schedule, the production team, and the quality of every system that ships. You'll work closely with engineering, procurement, and project management to keep multiple custom projects on time and on budget. Responsibilities You'll plan and schedule fabrication, welding, mechanical assembly, and electrical/panel build across several concurrent projects. You'll lead, hire, and develop production technicians and assemblers, and set clear priorities each day. You'll work with mechanical and electrical engineering to resolve drawing issues, BOM gaps, and build problems quickly, and with procurement to make sure parts and materials arrive when the build needs them. You'll run quality checks and prepare machines for internal testing and customer Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), track labor hours against project budgets, and keep the shop safe, organized, and efficient. You'll also support shipping, crating, and field installation planning. What we're looking for 5+ years in production or manufacturing leadership, ideally at a custom machine builder, integrator, or capital equipment manufacturer Comfortable reading mechanical drawings, BOMs, and electrical schematics Experience managing a team in a build-to-order or engineer-to-order environment Strong scheduling and organizational skills, able to juggle multiple projects with shifting priorities Familiarity with robotics, conveyors, PLC-controlled equipment, or packaging machinery is a strong plus Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and shop safety practices (OSHA, LOTO) Clear communicator who works well with engineers, project managers, and customers Nice to have Ability to speak
