$90,000-$110,000 annually Position Summary We are seeking a process‑oriented Project Engineer to support the design and manufacture of fabricated steel equipment and modular systems for the data center industry. This position will coordinate engineering activities from drawing support through fabrication. The ideal candidate will have an engineering degree, experience in a manufacturing environment, familiarity with welding and steel fabrication, and the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining strong attention to detail. Key Responsibilities Coordinate engineering activities from project kickoff through manufacturing and final delivery. Review customer specifications, drawings, and technical requirements. Work closely with project management, manufacturing, quality control, and purchasing. Provide technical support to the shop and resolve design or fabrication issues. Develop practical, manufacturable solutions that meet project requirements. Review fabrication drawings for accuracy, completeness, and constructability. Apply knowledge of welding symbols, welded connections, and common steel‑fabrication practices. Participate in design reviews and document project decisions, revisions, and action items. Support continuous‑improvement initiatives related to engineering and manufacturing processes. Develop and follow standardized engineering procedures, workflows, and document‑control practices. Ensure that engineering changes are properly reviewed, approved, documented, and communicated. Assist with root‑cause investigations and corrective actions when manufacturing or quality issues occur. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline. Experience working in a manufacturing, fabrication, or production environment. Working knowledge of welding, welded steel structures, and fabrication processes. Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills. Process‑oriented mindset with close attention to detail and documentation. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and welding symbols. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and project‑management teams. Preferred Qualifications Experience with data centers, modular power systems, electrical equipment skids, or similar industrial projects. Experience with structural steel fabrication and welding. Familiarity with AWS, AISC, ASME, or other applicable industry standards. Experience with SolidWorks or comparable 3D CAD software. Familiarity with RISA, Revit, or Inventor. Familiarity with bills of materials, revision control, ERP systems, and engineering document‑control processes. Experience supporting engineering projects through design, procurement, fabrication, inspection, and delivery. Work Environment This position requires regular interaction with both office and manufacturing personnel. The Project Engineer may occasionally be required to enter active fabrication areas, inspect equipment, assist with troubleshooting, and communicate directly with shop personnel. This individual should be capable of balancing technical requirements with schedule, cost, quality, and manufacturability while promoting consistent and well‑documented processes.
