Type:
full-time Vector's partner in Lake County is seeking a hands-on Continuous Improvement Engineer to help improve on-time delivery, production efficiency, and manufacturing processes within our fabrication and assembly operations. This is a highly visible role that works directly with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to identify problems, eliminate waste, and implement sustainable process improvements. Responsibilities
- Drive initiatives that improve on-time delivery (OTD), labor efficiency, and production flow.
- Spend time on the production floor daily identifying bottlenecks, part shortages, and process inefficiencies.
- Partner with production supervisors to resolve manufacturing issues and prevent recurring problems.
- Conduct time studies, analyze production data, and develop standard work.
- Lead root cause investigations using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools.
- Coordinate improvement projects across Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain.
- Track key performance metrics and provide recommendations that improve productivity and reduce rework. Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- 3-7 years of manufacturing or production experience.
- Experience with assembly operations and sheet metal fabrication preferred.
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green Belt preferred), time studies, and root cause analysis.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working on the shop floor and collaborating with employees at all levels.
