This role will focus on bringing new Mazak CNC machines into production, developing efficient machining processes, and improving manufacturing quality, productivity, and throughput. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Mazak machines and Mazatrol controls, along with a strong understanding of CNC programming, tooling, fixtures, and machining process optimization. Responsibilities Lead the setup, commissioning, and production launch of new CNC machining equipment. Develop, program, and optimize CNC machining processes to improve efficiency, quality, and production output. Support Mazak CNC machines and Mazatrol controls, including troubleshooting and process optimization. Develop and implement tooling strategies, fixtures, workholding solutions, and machining methods. Establish work instructions, gauging, and inspection processes to ensure consistent product quality. Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and manufacturing specifications. Troubleshoot machining issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions. Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs, improve cycle times, and minimize scrap. Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma principles to improve production processes. Collaborate with machinists, operators, quality personnel, and engineering teams to resolve shop-floor challenges. Support employee training and the implementation of manufacturing best practices. Qualifications 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in a CNC machining environment. Hands-on experience with Mazak CNC machines and Mazatrol controls. Experience programming, setting up, troubleshooting, and optimizing CNC machining processes. Knowledge of multi-axis machining, tooling, fixtures, and workholding. Experience bringing new CNC equipment into production. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T. Strong understanding of machining processes, cutting tools, feeds, and speeds. Experience with process improvement, root cause analysis, and production troubleshooting. Knowledge of DFM, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma principles. Strong communication, analytical, and shop-floor problem-solving skills. A bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering is preferred; equivalent relevant work experience will also be considered.
