Program Overview Our student engineering program offers hands-on experience across multiple disciplines in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Interns and co-ops gain exposure to real-world projects, technical challenges, and cross-functional collaboration—building a strong foundation for future careers. Internship Tracks Manufacturing Engineering Interns Design tools and fixtures using AutoCAD or SolidWorks Support continuous improvement and production troubleshooting Create and revise operator instructions Assist with asset management , safety audits , and plant layout planning Product Development Engineering Interns Gain exposure to Shape's Product Development processes , including SPMP, enterProj, Plex, and Smartsheet systems Learn the fundamentals of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and drawing development Work with Teamcenter and VisMockUp to manage and visualize product data Assist in the creation and review of key engineering documents such as
DFMEA , DVP&R
, and technical drawings Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product design and process development initiatives Additional Responsibilities Apply engineering calculations to real-world problems Manage cross-functional projects Create technical documentation and present findings Take on additional tasks as assigned by your supervisor
Requirements:
Education & Experience Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field from an accredited program Minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) Strong communication , problem-solving , and analytical skills Comfortable working independently and in collaborative teams
