In this role, you will bring technical expertise and leadership together to design, develop, and commission industrial automation systems for manufacturing operations and specialized customer equipment. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering, technician, and project teams to deliver highly reliable, next-generation automation solutions.
Key Responsibilities System Design & Development:
Design, develop, and implement complex PLC and HMI control systems for automated manufacturing equipment.
Coding & Troubleshooting:
Write, modify, and troubleshoot PLC code and HMI applications using P&IDs, functional descriptions, electrical schematics, and scope documents to build robust control strategies.
Commissioning Leadership:
Lead equipment startup, system validation testing, I/O checkouts, and troubleshooting at both internal production facilities and customer sites.
Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent practical technical experience.
Experience:
Five (5) or more years of dedicated controls/automation engineering experience.
Technical Skills:
Proven experience designing, programming (PLC/HMI), and commissioning industrial automation systems in an active production environment.
Documentation Fluency:
Sharp ability to read, interpret, and engineer based on electrical schematics, P&IDs, and complex technical documentation.
Core Competencies:
Strong team communication skills with a track record of effectively managing project timelines and milestones. Preferred Qualifications Hands-on machine commissioning and startup experience. Deep proficiency with Siemens Step 7 / TIA Portal platforms and associated hardware. Extensive experience with Rockwell Studio 5000 / Allen-Bradley PLC platforms. Experience with drive systems, specifically Siemens S120/G120C or Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 755 drives. Experience utilizing Ignition (Perspective or Vision architectures). Familiarity navigating modern ERP platforms (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365). Work Locations This position can be based full-time out of any of the following regional hubs:
Greater Las Vegas Region, NV Willamette Valley Region, OR Raleigh-Durham Metro Region, NC Pay:
$100,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
