Job Description

FPD Company, a subsidiary of Trigon Holding, Inc., is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer. Located in McMurray, PA, FPD Company is a global manufacturer of forged and machined titanium aerospace components and medical implants. Our knowledge of materials, precision manufacturing methods and a comprehensive quality system enable us to meet the stringent requirements of the aerospace and medical industries.
Responsibilities Include:
Review product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications. Coordinate activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems. Use 3D modeling software to create customer geometry and fixturing to manufacture these components while ensuring accurate cost-effective processes. Assist in customer RFQs. Confer with manufacturing departments to ensure tooling and fixturing is cost effective and on time to the project schedule. Design fixtures and gages required for production and inspection. Create, distribute operation drawings. Create manufacturing sequence and enter it into MIS. Direct integration of technical activities and products. Evaluate and approve design changes, specifications, and drawing releases. Control expenditures within limitations of project budget.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or similar engineering field; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis. Knowledge of CREO modeling software is a plus. Knowledge of Forge NXT forging and/or ANSYS simulation software is a plus. Knowledge of CNC machining and/or manufacturing processes is a plus Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
