Job Description
SUMMARY Hourly rate to be determined based on discipline. This is a Part-Time Instructor Pool in our Continuing Education Workforce Development (CEWD) department for available assignments during the academic year. This position is limited to no more than 19 hours per week. Applications are considered throughout the academic year and reviewed based on departmental needs. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Requires flexible work schedule to meet program needs, which may include working days, evenings and/or weekends. If a degree, certification or licensure is required, the provision of official transcripts and/or certifications must be received in the Office of Human Resources within (30) days of hire. Applicants with academic credentials from non-U.S. accredited institutions are required to have their coursework evaluated in terms of U.S. "equivalency." All international credential evaluations must be conducted by one of the companies affiliated with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Provides hands-on instruction in 3D design, additive manufacturing, product prototyping, and entrepreneurship. Guides students from concept through prototype development using industry-standard design software and 3D printing technologies while supporting innovation and entrepreneurial learning. This position is limited to no more than 19 hours per week. Deliver hands-on instruction in 3D design, modeling, additive manufacturing, and product prototyping. Teach industry-standard design software such as Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Tinkercad, Blender, AutoCAD, or similar platforms. Guide students through product development from concept and design through functional prototype creation. Develop and facilitate workshops, training courses, and learning activities related to 3D printing and entrepreneurship. Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate 3D printers and related equipment while ensuring safe equipment use. Provide technical support and mentorship to students developing prototypes and business concepts. Monitor materials, supplies, and equipment and recommend maintenance, replacements, or upgrades as needed. Assist with curriculum development and continuous improvement of entrepreneurship and makerspace initiatives. Collaborate with CEWD staff, faculty, industry partners, and community stakeholders to strengthen program offerings. Maintain required program records, reports, and documentation. Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, Industrial Design, Computer-Aided Drafting, Engineering, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience. Experience with 3D printing technologies, including equipment setup, operation, and maintenance. Experience with CAD software and digital modeling tools. Ability to effectively teach technical concepts to diverse audiences. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Design, Education, or a related field. Prior teaching, workforce training, or instructional experience. Experience operating a makerspaces, fabrication labs, or innovation centers. Industry certifications related to additive manufacturing, CAD, engineering technology, or product design. Experience with product development, commercialization, startups, or entrepreneurship. Experience with multiple additive manufacturing technologies, including FDM, SLA, and resin printing. Experience in higher education, workforce development, or continuing education. Bilingual - English/Spanish. (Speak)

Ability to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot 3D printing equipment and related technologies. Strong classroom, laboratory, and hands-on instructional skills.
