Senior Manufacturing Engineer
Job Description
A well-established industrial manufacturer with a century-plus track record and a global footprint (11,000+ employees across North America, South America, Europe, and Asia) is looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join their facility that is closely situated to Staunton, Virginia This is a company built on solving tough engineering problems for mission-critical applications, with a strong internal culture around continuous improvement and lean operations. The Role The primary responsibility of this role is to solve problems. You'll investigate alternative solutions for assigned projects, develop cost information for each, and either drive execution yourself or bring recommendations to leadership, depending on project scope. You'll design or specify equipment to meet manufacturing needs, ranging from minor process tweaks to major facility modifications or new equipment installs. On larger projects, like standing up complex equipment that's been purchased new or transferred from another plant, you'll work directly with operations and corporate staff, owning installation, set up, debugging, implementation, and training. You'll act as the liaison between the plant floor and broader operations staff on these projects. You may also be pulled into special projects like new model launches, helping integrate new products into existing manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities Analyze manufacturing problems and develop alternative approaches to solving them Evaluate solutions for efficiency and cost effectiveness Maintain hands-on knowledge of operating systems and mechanical equipment across the plant Stay current on mechanical and electrical technology to keep improving manufacturing processes Keep the Manufacturing Engineering Manager informed on project status Write tool orders and material requisitions, communicating needs directly to vendors, or to internal teams when tooling work is done in-house What You'll Need Bachelor's degree in Engineering (BSME or BSEE preferred) 5+ years of experience in a related technical field Ability to work independently across multiple projects of varying complexity A track record of taking initiative and applying past experience to solve new problems Experience coordinating capital expenditure requests for assigned projects Strong working knowledge of Solid Edge, SolidWorks, or other CAD packages Solid grounding in lean manufacturing principles Hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment and tooling Experience with APQP in support of project launches Strong mechanical background, especially with automated manufacturing equipment Comfort configuring Windows systems for machine interface and network communication Benefits Day one health, dental, and vision coverage Employee Assistance Program Generous parental leave (maternity, paternity, and STD paid at 100%) 401k with company match Life insurance, HSA with employer contribution, FSA options Short and long term disability coverage Competitive PTO and tuition reimbursement #JDP By providing your phone number, you consent to: (1) receive automated text messages and calls from the Judge Group, Inc. and its affiliates (collectively "Judge") to such phone number regarding job opportunities, your job application, and for other related purposes.
