Pharmacist-in-Charge / Pharmacy Manager Position Summary We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician
•Production to join our pharmacy team. The Production Technician will be responsible for accurately preparing prescriptions, filling vials, preparing compliance packaging and bingo cards, maintaining inventory, placing and receiving medication orders, and supporting the day-to-day production workflow of the pharmacy. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, works well in a fast-paced environment, and understands the importance of accuracy, patient safety, and proper pharmacy procedures. Key Responsibilities Accurately fill and prepare prescription medications under the supervision of a pharmacist. Prepare vial prescriptions , including counting, labeling, and packaging medications according to pharmacy procedures. Prepare compliance packaging / bingo cards for assisted living, long-term care, and other facility patients. Fill and organize medication cards according to patient-specific medication schedules. Verify that medications, quantities, directions, and packaging are consistent with the prescription and facility orders before pharmacist verification. Process new prescriptions, refill requests, medication changes, and facility orders in the pharmacy system. Prepare hospital discharge and new-admission prescriptions as directed. Assist with medication synchronization and refill preparation. Maintain an organized production area and ensure medications and supplies are properly stored. Monitor inventory levels and identify medications and supplies that need to be ordered. Place medication and pharmacy supply orders according to established procedures. Receive incoming medication orders and accurately check shipments against invoices. Stock medications and supplies in the appropriate locations. Monitor for out-of-stock medications and communicate shortages or ordering issues to the pharmacist or pharmacy manager. Assist with return-to-stock, expired medication, damaged medication, and inventory adjustment procedures. Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with periodic inventory counts. Keep production areas clean, organized, and compliant with pharmacy policies and procedures. Follow all applicable pharmacy laws, regulations, company policies, and procedures. Protect patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements. Communicate professionally with pharmacists, technicians, facility staff, patients, caregivers, and other members of the pharmacy team. Assist other pharmacy staff with daily workflow as needed. Perform other duties as assigned by the Pharmacist-in-Charge or Pharmacy Manager. Compliance Packaging Responsibilities The technician will be responsible for assisting with the production of compliance packaging, including: Preparing medications for bingo cards and other compliance packaging. Reviewing medication schedules and facility orders for completeness. Organizing medications by patient, date, and administration time. Preparing cards accurately and efficiently for pharmacist verification. Identifying discrepancies, missing medications, discontinued medications, or unclear orders before production. Ensuring completed cards are properly labeled and organized for delivery. Maintaining production records and documentation as required. Qualifications Current Florida Pharmacy Technician Registration required. Previous pharmacy technician experience preferred. Experience with long-term care, assisted living, compliance packaging, or bingo cards is preferred. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment. Good organizational and time-management skills. Ability to follow written procedures and pharmacist instructions. Basic computer and pharmacy software skills. Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and facility personnel. Ability to work independently while also being a team player. Dependable attendance and a professional attitude. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and work for extended periods. Ability to frequently reach, bend, and handle medication containers and pharmacy supplies. Ability to lift and move pharmacy inventory and supply boxes as reasonably required.
