If you're ready to make a lasting impact and bring laughter and fun to the lives of children and adults, explore our exciting opportunities to help us to create a world where play knows no limits.
Company Values:
Honesty and Integrity Respect and Caring for Others Openness and Collaboration Individual and Team Accountability Passion and Purpose Position Overview PlayPower is seeking dependable, safety-focused System Operators to join a dedicated crew responsible for running our Integrated Cut, Bend, and Weld (ICBW) system. This automated system combines high speed sheet laser cutting with robotic material handling, press brake and welding to produce the highest quality decks and barriers - all in a continuous, coordinated workflow across the system: Eagle Laser (cutting), Robotic Brake Press (occasional RAS Folding), Robotic Weld, and Forklift Material Handling. This is a fully cross-trained, all-hands-on-every-station role. Every operator on the crew is expected to become — and remain — certified, fully competent and independently capable of running all four stations (Eagle Laser, RAS Folder, Robotic Weld, and Forklift). There are no fixed, single-station assignments; the crew rotates and covers for one another based on daily production needs, absences, and production bottlenecks. No operator is considered fully qualified for this role until they have demonstrated independent proficiency across all four stations. This role is best suited for people who are naturally curious, technically savvy, and enjoy solving problems on their feet — individuals who bring a positive attitude to a fast-paced, team-dependent cell environment and take genuine ownership of the equipment and the outcome, not just their immediate task. Principal Duties & Responsibilities Station Competency — Eagle Laser Load raw sheet stock into 10 tray tower; nest, set up and run laser cutting programs per production requirements. Separate parts from skeletons, feeding parts into their appropriate infeed conveyer. Verify cut quality and dimensional accuracy; adjust parameters within trained limits; fabricate parts as required (e.g., removing cleaning tabs). Recognize and respond to system alarms and/or failures - including being first point of contact for Eagle when failures occur. MUST be able to pass required training and receive certification specific to Eagle Laser Operators. Station Competency — RAS Folder Set up tooling and programs for bending/forming operations per part specification. Monitor bend angles, sequencing, and part flow; make trained adjustments to hold tolerance. Identify forming defects (cracking, spring-back, mis-registration) and correct or escalate. Station Competency — Robotic Weld Maintain consistent feed of braces, corners and stiffeners for robotic placement. Monitor weld cycles for quality (penetration, spatter, fixture drift) and stop/adjust as needed. Perform basic robotic weld cell troubleshooting (torch/tip issues, wire feed, fixture wear) within trained limits. Change fixtures as appropriate. Station Competency — Forklift Operation Operate forklift safely to stage raw material, move work-in-process between stations, and stock finished goods. Maintain accurate material flow so all three processing stations remain fed and unblocked. Hold and maintain valid forklift certification (PlayPower will certify/train as needed). Cross-Station Flexibility & Team Coordination Rotate across stations based on daily production plan, staffing, and bottlenecks — this crew does not operate with fixed, single-station roles. Communicate continuously with crew members to maintain line balance and flag upstream/downstream issues in real time. Quality & Process Control Perform dimensional checks and visual inspections using gauges, callipers, and fixtures at defined cadence. Identify and flag non-conforming parts, segregate scrap and document per quality procedures. Follow standard work instructions and work order specifications for each product run. The above description is intended to describe the duties of an employee in general terms and does not necessarily describe all duties.
Qualifications, Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Preferred Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred. 1+ year of dedicated manufacturing, fabrication, machine operation, or welding experience (or equivalent technical training). Ability to read blueprints, work orders, and measurement tools (tape measure, callipers, gauges). Prior experience with CNC/laser cutting, press brake or panel folding, and robotic or MIG welding equipment. Prior forklift experience a plus. Basic mechanical aptitude with experience in metal fabrication, tube/pipe processing, or structural steel production. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or operator-led preventative maintenance practices. Ability to work collaboratively in a small-team, cell-based production environment. Reliable attendance and ability to work assigned shift, including required overtime to meet production goals.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Positive attitude with the ability to bring good energy to the team and stay confident under production pressure. Ability to ask "why" and "how," and consciously aspiring to understand the equipment and process. Technically savvy with excellent problem-solving skills — comfortable with machine controls, programs, and troubleshooting logic. Safety and accountability — daily housekeeping and preventative maintenance are personal responsibilities and not someone else's duty. Ability to work within a collaborative environment, working with other operators to achieve team production goals.
Attendance Requirement:
Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such a level as is determined in the company's employee handbook. Must be available and willing to work overtime hours as the employer determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs. Must be available and willing to work such weekends and/or holidays as the employer determines are necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.
Travel Requirements:
Minimal, but may be required to travel out of state for training opportunities.
Working Conditions:
Manufacturing floor environment; exposure to noise, heat, and in proximity to common welding and fabrication operations (heat, sparks, fumes). Schedule is based on shift and production need. Consistently required to stand, walk, bend and reach for duration of shift, use hands, talk, and hear. Ability to wear required PPE for extended periods of time (safety glasses, hearing protection, welding hood/gloves as applicable, steel-toed boots). Physical demands include frequent lifting and/or carrying up to 50 lbs. and pushing or pulling 50-75 lbs.
Position Location:
