POSITION SUMMARY
To pull, supply and maintain appropriate levels of raw product, at assembly line workstations in a light assembly environment. Return unused products to proper location in the warehouse, and help maintain a neat, clean, and hazard free work environment. In addition, the Material Handler II will also
PRIMARY ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include, but are not limited to: Provide excellent customer service to all Production employees. Open various sizes of cardboard boxes using a box knife safely. Change out Ribbon Cartridges or Ink Cartridges Adjust the Grainger Machine Adjust Printer Position for New Bags Adjust Squid Ink Jet Machine Add New Labels to Grainger Machines Adjust Videojet Machine & Monitor Supplies Adjust Sneed Machine Verify Labels on Grainger Machine and Side Sealer (LOT,EXP,ITEM, etc.) Keep Labels stocked in slip desk and production office. Laminate tote labels and instructions. Setup Scales for table jobs Tape out 5s Locations and maintain overall 5s in the department. Verifying machines are started and stopped correctly at the end of shift. Maintain sufficient levels of raw product at production line stations. Maintain organization of product carts in both production and the warehouse. Operate pallet jacks. Operate cardboard and plastic compactors including bailing full loads. Participate in production lines, able to read a line layout. Break down and set up and monitor production lines throughout the day. Maintain an organized, clean and hazard free production work environment. Calculates needs and organizes product pulls for daily production. Organizes product carts and completes timely production pulls. Returns unused raw material to its proper warehouse location, in an orderly fashion. Coordinates with the warehouse to monitor inventory levels and consolidate partial boxes of raw product. Reports errors in inventory to manager. Labels and stickers - Create and maintain accurate records. Provide backup for machine set up. Control production counts and proper finished goods inventory.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Expected to develop and maintain professional working relationships. Learn First Aid Only, Inc.'s extensive product line and item numbers. Daily focus on details and accuracy. Ability to communicate and work with a culturally diverse work force. Perform all duties in a safe manner and use tools available to endure safety i.e. ladders, pallet jacks, hand trucks, etc. Ability to perform duties accurately and at a productive rate. Must be able to read, speak and write English fluently. Have intermediate skills in computer applications such as MS Word, Outlook and email. Ability to work flexible shifts according to company needs.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Forklift certification Haz Mat certification Cross training into warehouse, shipping, and forklift driving available after successfully passing probationary period.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift 0-40 pounds frequently. Regularly stand and walk for long periods of time while carrying items and reaching with hands and arms.
