Shift Lead Manufacturing Technician Location:
Cincinnati, OH Pay:
$28.00-$35.00/hour + $3.50/hour shift differential
Schedule:
2nd Shift | Monday-Friday, 2:00 PM-10:30
PM Overtime:
Saturdays as needed

Direct Hire Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Lead Manufacturing Technician to support production operations on 2nd shift. This position is responsible for ensuring efficient machine operation, product quality, production performance, and safe work practices. The ideal candidate will have hands-on manufacturing or machine experience, strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with production, quality, maintenance, and leadership teams. Key Responsibilities Maintain optimum production quality and support daily production goals. Monitor and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) to help meet production targets. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while setting a high standard for housekeeping. Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements. Verify proper machine setups, settings, and adjustments to maintain product quality, productivity, and minimize scrap. Perform quality checks and random testing of finished products in accordance with established procedures. Proactively identify and make necessary process adjustments to reduce scrap and prevent equipment downtime. Ensure machine settings and product specifications are consistent with setup sheets and control plans. Perform complete machine changeovers, including equipment setup, quality verification, and completion of required documentation. Work efficiently and safely to minimize production downtime. Immediately notify Quality or the Shift Supervisor when finished products do not meet established quality standards. Maintain production on other available equipment while quality concerns are being addressed. Communicate maintenance needs, quality concerns, production issues, and other operational challenges to the Shift Supervisor. Identify and communicate safety concerns to leadership and management. Read, understand, and follow control plans to ensure products meet production, quality, and scrap requirements. Work collaboratively with employees across departments and shifts to maintain equipment performance and production efficiency. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and help identify opportunities to improve processes, quality, and productivity. Assist with employee training and special projects across all shifts as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Previous manufacturing, production, or machine operation experience. Experience operating or working with industry-specific manufacturing equipment. Basic mechanical knowledge and hands-on troubleshooting skills. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to communicate effectively with production, quality, maintenance, and leadership teams. Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality and safety. Ability and willingness to work scheduled overtime, including Saturdays as needed. Ability to lift up to 100 pounds with assistance .
