Manufacturing Technician - Spectroscopic Testing & Product Assembly Wavelength References Inc. | South Corvallis, Oregon Competitive compensation DOE Full or Part time Wavelength References Inc. is a small well established company specializing in NIST-traceable optical components and near- to mid-infrared frequency standards for calibration, metrology, and gas-sensing applications. We are also experiencing rapid growth due to the roll out of optical interconnect in AI . Position Summary We are seeking a Manufacturing Technician to support product assembly, spectroscopic testing, and other manufacturing activities. The primary responsibilities are assembling gas-cell products according to customer specifications and standard procedures, performing final product testing, and maintaining product quality. After training by senior staff, the technician will interpret customer purchase orders and specifications, assemble products, perform final testing, and assist with packaging and shipping as needed. Opportunities also exist for future growth for the self motivated candidate into all areas of the company including production fixture design, experiments to identify sources and solutions of product defects, facility improvements, and product design. Primary Responsibilities Read and accurately interpret customer purchase orders and technical specifications. Assemble gas-cell and fiber-optic products using established procedures. Perform final spectroscopic testing and document test results for product certification. Troubleshoot assembly and testing issues. Follow company procedures and quality-control requirements. Maintain standard assembly and testing procedures. Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area. Package products for shipment Additional Opportunities Depending on experience and interest, responsibilities may include: Glass fabrication and other component manufacturing. Laser and optical instrument assembly. Chemical materials testing and manufacturing. Reviewing/editing C code and writing Python scripts. Fixture and tooling design with CAD.

Qualifications Required:

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work carefully with small components. Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems. Ability to follow detailed procedures and accurately document work. Ability to work independently and communicate effectively within a small team. Willingness to learn technical equipment and processes. Desired While a formal degree is not a requirement coursework and working knowledge in chemistry and physics is a plus.
