We're partnering with a manufacturing leader in robotics and intelligent optical systems that is opening a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Austin to build their team from the ground up. Role Overview We are seeking hands-on, detail-oriented SMT Production Technicians to support high-volume Surface Mount Technology (SMT) manufacturing at our Hutto, TX facility. You'll operate and monitor SMT equipment — stencil printers, pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, and automated inspection systems — to build high-quality PCB assemblies (PCBAs) for our advanced hardware products, in a fast-paced environment where consistency, precision, and speed all matter. Key Responsibilities Set up, operate, and monitor SMT equipment (stencil printers, pick-and-place, reflow ovens, AOI/SPI) and perform changeovers between job runs to minimize downtime Monitor line performance and respond quickly to jams, misfeeds, alarms, or quality alerts to keep throughput on target Conduct in-process and first-article inspections to

standards, identifying defects (bridging, tombstoning, misalignment, etc.) and initiating corrective action Complete production travelers, quality checklists, and downtime/shift-handoff logs accurately Perform routine preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting; escalate equipment issues as needed Follow safety, 5S, and ESD control procedures; support NPI builds, continuous improvement, and training of new operators as assigned Meet or exceed daily production, yield, and quality targets Required Qualifications High school diploma/GED; technical certificate in electronics a plus 1-3+ years of hands-on SMT equipment experience (pick-and-place, reflow oven, stencil printer) in a PCB assembly environment Working knowledge of SMT processes and common defect types; ability to read work instructions, travelers, and BOMs Comfortable with small components, magnification tools, and basic MES/ERP data entry Strong attention to detail; able to work rotating/fixed shifts including occasional overtime and weekends Preferred Qualifications IPC-A-610 and/or
J-STD-001
certification Experience with AOI/SPI systems or SMT machine programming (Fuji, Panasonic, ASM/Siplace, Yamaha, or similar) Experience in high-precision electronics, robotics, or optics manufacturing; exposure to Lean/5S/Kaizen Physical Requirements Ability to stand for a full shift, lift up to 25 lbs occasionally, and perform close inspection work using magnification Ability to wear required PPE and comply with ESD-safe garment and grounding protocols
