Full Job Description Location:
Chesapeake, VA Pay Rate:
$17.50/hr (day shift) | $18.72/hr (night shift, 7% shift differential)
Schedule:
Rotating 12-hour shifts
Hours:
6:00 AM-6:00 PM (Days) and 6:00 PM-6:00 AM (Nights)
Shift Rotation:
Two weeks on day shift, followed by two weeks on night shift Rotating schedule includes weekdays, weekends, and holidays Typical rotation follows a pattern similar to: Work 2 days Off 2 days Work 3 days Off 2 days Work 2 days Off 3 days
Training:
Initial two-week training period will be conducted on day shift Job Overview The Manufacturing Support Technician is responsible for supporting all aspects of the granulation operation, maintaining safety and quality standards, and ensuring smooth material flow throughout the plant.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate Granulators 2, 3, and 4, and monitor Fluff Silos 212 A, B, C Execute daily granulation and housekeeping plans Monitor production equipment, update Production Lead and Pelletizing Technician on status Perform bulk density quality checks and respond to quality issues Maintain floor organization, material flow, and housekeeping standards Assist with preventative maintenance and troubleshoot process equipment Support team members and assist in training new employees Operate forklifts, clamp trucks, motorized handcarts, and other material handling equipment safely Record all production activities, quality results, process adjustments, and maintenance performed Follow all safety programs and promote a "Safety First" culture Perform additional duties as assigned by
Production Supervisor, Lead, or Engineer Technical Skills Required:
Mechanically inclined; able to troubleshoot and set up machines Mathematically inclined; able to convert metric and standard measurements Machine maintenance experience preferred Prior production/machine operator experience a plus (Stihl, IMS Gear, USUI, Paradigm) Soft Skills /
