We are seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to join our maritime team. This position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of vessel machinery and engine room systems . The Chief Engineer will ensure all mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment operates smoothly while maintaining compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Please note that the vessel has International Tonnage Only, GT 2141, HP 3200. The Chief Engineer's License will need to cover these specs.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate, maintain, and repair vessel machinery and equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous vessel operations. Conduct routine inspections of engines, gears, shafts, bearings, and auxiliary equipment . Examine machinery pressure and flow of lubricants to ensure optimal performance. Perform manufacturer-recommended maintenance on all vessel systems and machinery. Maintain detailed engineering logs, engine room records, and maintenance schedules . Apply lubricants, grease, and oil to moving parts and machinery according to lubrication schedules. Monitor and record pressure, temperature, and operational data from gauges and instruments. Oversee cleaning, painting, and upkeep of machinery spaces to ensure a safe and organized work environment. Work closely with deck crew and other vessel personnel to support vessel operations. Perform lubrication of deck machinery during cargo unloading operations . Carry out additional duties assigned by the Captain or vessel management .
Qualifications/License Requirements & Skills:
Proven experience as a Chief Engineer, Marine Engineer, or Vessel Engineer . Strong knowledge of marine propulsion systems, auxiliary equipment, and mechanical maintenance . International Tonnage ONLY Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic systems . Familiarity with safety standards, maritime regulations, and preventative maintenance . Excellent teamwork, communication, and record-keeping skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain clean and organized machinery spaces .
