Job Description

Metallurgist Johnson Camp Mine / Gunnison Project | Southeastern Arizona | Full-time, site-based Help improve copper recovery where the work happens: in the field, at the leach pads, and alongside the teams running the operation. Gunnison Copper is seeking a Metallurgist who enjoys hands-on problem solving and wants to build a career in an expanding copper operation using innovative Nuton bioleaching technology . Reporting to the Senior Metallurgist , you'll connect sampling, testing, and operating data with practical improvements in heap-leach and SX/EW performance. This is a full-time career position for an experienced professional, not an internship. What you'll do Work in the field and laboratory to monitor leach performance, solution chemistry, and copper recovery. Plan and conduct sampling, metallurgical testing, and field trials. Analyze results, investigate performance trends, and recommend actions to improve recovery and process consistency. Partner with operations and laboratory teams to troubleshoot issues and put improvements into practice. Maintain accurate technical records and reports while following site safety and environmental requirements. What you bring A bachelor's degree in metallurgy, chemical engineering, materials science, or a related field. Three to seven years of relevant metallurgical or process engineering experience. Experience at an open-pit, heap-leach, SX/EW copper operation is strongly preferred. The ability to turn field observations and process data into practical recommendations. Strong communication and Excel skills, sound judgment, and a commitment to working safely.
