With a strong presence across the architectural glass industry, the company now offers advanced privacy and aesthetic solutions in the United States, serving diverse projects nationwide. Vistamatic LLC is dedicated to delivering high-quality products that seamlessly blend privacy, design, and technological innovation. We are seeking an inquisitive, detail-oriented, and highly motivated engineering intern to support our R&D team in developing cutting-edge smart glass, switchable films, and architectural light-guiding technology.

You will work directly alongside our R&D Director and Product Development Engineers, gaining firsthand experience in product testing, lamination processes, material characterization, and manufacturing R&D. This role does not require extensive industry experience—we are primarily looking for someone who listens carefully, follows detailed directions, asks thoughtful questions, and is eager to build practical hands-on engineering skills.
What You Will Do Hands-On Testing & Characterization:
Assist with sample preparation, lamination testing, optic/switching property measurements, and environmental testing.
Data & Process Documentation:
Carefully record test observations, process parameters, and measurements with precision and attention to detail.
R&D Support:
Work with senior engineers to troubleshoot prototype behaviors, organize lab samples, and evaluate materials.
Collaborative Problem Solving:
Participate in cross-functional discussions across R&D, product management, and manufacturing.
What We Are Looking For Academic Background:
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Materials Science & Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related engineering field.
Key Soft Skills:
Active listener who follows instructions carefully and cares deeply about accuracy and detail. High level of curiosity, self-motivation, and eagerness to learn new industrial skills. Strong communication skills and a willingness to ask questions when unsure.
Hands-On Mindset:
Comfortable working in a lab/manufacturing environment and handling physical samples. No previous professional industry experience required — we will train and mentor you. What You Will Gain Direct mentorship from experienced R&D leaders and materials scientists. Practical, resume-building experience in smart glass manufacturing, functional film lamination, and product testing. Insight into taking R&D concepts from lab-scale prototypes into real-world architectural products.
Pay:
$20.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 per week
