Full Job Description Location:
Kansas City Metro Area Immediate Openings Build a career that lets you work hands-on and see the results of your work throughout the Kansas City region. We are seeking dependable and experienced Engineering Technicians to perform field and laboratory construction quality-control inspections and materials testing. You will help ensure that local and regional construction projects meet established quality standards and are built to last. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with construction materials testing experience or technical education who is interested in soils, concrete, asphalt, masonry, steel, and construction inspection. Responsibilities Perform field and laboratory testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, masonry, and steel. Conduct construction quality-control inspections at active project sites. Collect samples, take measurements, and accurately document test results. Follow established testing procedures, project specifications, and safety requirements. Communicate professionally with contractors, project representatives, and team members. Maintain organized, accurate, and timely field and laboratory records. Travel to project sites throughout the Kansas City area as assigned. Arrive on time and maintain a professional appearance and attitude. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Valid driver's license and ability to provide proof of a clean driving record. Interest or experience in construction materials testing and inspection. Ability to work reliably in both field and laboratory environments. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation. Dependable, punctual, and professional. Ability to work safely around active construction operations. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience testing or inspecting soil, reinforced concrete, asphalt, masonry, or steel. Coursework or completion of the Johnson County Community College Engineering Technology program. ACI, ICC, KDOT, MoDOT, or NICET certifications. Construction, civil engineering, geotechnical, or quality-control experience. Familiarity with construction plans, specifications, and testing procedures. Why Apply?
