Job Description

Materials & Processes (M&P) Engineer — Aerospace Flight Hardware New Orleans, LA (on-site, NASA's Michoud Assembly Facility) • Full-time Build the materials behind spacecraft that fly. Vivace is hiring a hands-on M&P Engineer to own metallurgical evaluation, materials and coatings qualification, and the process specifications behind precision aerospace hardware — on programs spanning commercial space stations, lunar landers, and hypersonic vehicles. What you'll do Develop and optimize weld parameters (GTAW, GMAW, FSW) across titanium, aluminum, and stainless steel Run hands-on metallurgical evaluation — metallography, mechanical testing, failure analysis Qualify materials, coatings, and surface treatments for flight hardware Author and maintain process specifications to aerospace and NASA standards What you need B.S. or M.S. in Materials, Metallurgical, Welding, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering 3+ years in aerospace materials — metallurgy, welding, and/or pressure vessels Hands-on lab and mechanical-testing experience with titanium and/or aluminum U.S. Person status required (ITAR/EAR) About Vivace Vivace builds high-performance structures for the nation's most ambitious spaceflight programs — commercial launch vehicles, spacecraft, and human spaceflight. Now a core company within the Vaylent aerospace and defense platform, backed by Cerberus Capital Management, Vivace was recently selected to manufacture the primary structure for the Starlab commercial space station — one of the largest space structures in the nation's history. It's a step change in scale, and this role is at the center of it. Local candidates strongly preferred.

$135,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year
