IPC-A-610, GMW3172, CS.00056, CETP
00.00-E-412 and similar automotive industry inspection standards . In this role, you will be performing visual PCBA inspections using microscopes to detect defects in accordance with IPC-A-610 and other industry inspection standards. You will document your findings on inspection check sheets and with photographs, log samples and work within Elmet's records system. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge automotive electronic systems, apply diagnostic tools, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Log incoming shipments and photograph incoming items and circuit boards Navigate Elmet's information systems to find relevant work instructions and standards Follow established Elmet procedures and the work description for each job Inspect circuit boards and assemblies in accordance with the relevant standards identified in the work description Document inspections on check sheets and photograph observed PCBA deficiencies Participate in continuous improvement events and provide input as needed Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned Skills Strong attention to detail combined with excellent analysis skills for defect identification at microscopic levels through metallography techniques. Experience with PCBA inspections, 1+ years of PCB inspection preferred. Current or past
IPC-A-610
certification preferred; willingness to become certified required (on-site IPC training may be provided) Ability to read, write, and perform basic math Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel; general knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Familiarity with Microsoft Teams is a plus Must be a Permanent Resident or U.S. Citizen Ability to operate hand tools effectively for electronic module disassembly. Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use fingers, hands, and wrists while handling and feeling, and to reach with hands and arms. The employee must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 10 pounds regularly and 20 pounds occasionally, and is occasionally required to bend.
