Job Description

We're looking for a Materials Science and Engineering intern to support experimental and analytical work across our technology platforms. About Revora Materials, Inc. Revora Materials (formerly Carbon To Stone) is a critical minerals and advanced materials company turning industrial residues and ultramafic feedstocks

  • ferrous slag, aluminum dross, mine tailings, olivine, serpentine, and construction waste
  • into valuable resources. Our LithoLock platform mineralizes CO₂ with alkaline residues to produce solid carbonates as a durable industrial material. Our IonMet platform is a proprietary electrochemical process for recovering multiple critical minerals
  • including magnesium, nickel, cobalt, and silica
  • from a single feedstock. Both platforms are built on nearly a decade of fundamental research and are moving toward commercial pilots and supply-chain partnerships with industrial players in steel, cement, and critical minerals. Description Role Overview We're looking for a Materials Science and Engineering intern to support experimental and analytical work across our technology platforms
  • IonMet (electrochemical multi-metal recovery) and/or LithoLock (CO₂ mineralization). You'll work directly with our technical team on lab-scale experiments, characterization of feedstocks and reaction products, and data analysis that feeds directly into pilot-scale decisions. This is hands-on lab work at an early-stage startup
  • expect ownership, direct exposure to founders, and results that matter to real commercial timelines, not a rotation through pre-scoped busywork.

What You'll Do Run bench-scale experiments on our mineralization and/or electrochemical recovery processes, applied to industrial feedstocks (slag, dross, tailings, olivine, serpentine, construction waste) Characterize feedstocks and reaction products using techniques such as XRD, SEM, ICP, TGA, or particle size analysis (exact toolset and process assignment depends on lab access and team need) Track and analyze reaction kinetics, CO₂ uptake and/or metal recovery yields; maintain rigorous lab notebooks and data logs Support process optimization studies (temperature, pressure, particle size, liquid-to-solid ratio, current density, or similar) and help translate results into pilot-scale process parameters Assist with materials/mass balance calculations and contribute to internal technical reports and partner-facing data summaries Maintain lab safety protocols and equipment; support general lab operations What We're Looking For B.S. or M.S. in Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Geochemistry, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field Coursework or lab experience in reaction engineering, thermodynamics, materials characterization, or process design Comfortable with hands-on lab work: careful measurement, methodical experimentation, honest reporting of results

  • including negative ones Working knowledge of Excel/Python (or similar) for data analysis; prior exposure to
XRD/SEM/ICP

a plus but not required Genuine interest in critical mineral recovery, resource circularity, or industrial materials processing Able to work independently in a small-team, early-stage environment where priorities shift as experiments and partner needs evolve Why Revora Direct, unfiltered exposure to how an early-stage deep-tech startup actually operates

  • from lab bench to partner conversations Work on technology platforms with a credible path to commercial pilots and named industrial partners, not a theoretical research project Small team means your experimental results are read and acted on by founders within days, not filed away Direct mentorship from the founding technical team, including our Co-Founder's ongoing research on resource recovery and materials processing Exposure to two distinct process platforms (thermochemical mineralization and electrochemical recovery), broadening your technical range beyond a single unit operation Salary $25•$30 per hour
