projects from quotation through design release, supplier build, First Article Inspection, and production support. Perform and review ASME Section VIII, Division 1 calculations for shell/head thickness, MAWP, MDMT, nozzle reinforcement, external pressure, openings, and applicable components. Create and release SolidWorks 3D models, fabrication drawings, bills of material, weld details, nozzle layouts, tolerances, and GD& T requirements. Use COMPRESS, Mathcad, and Comsal for vessel calculations; support CFD/FEA analysis for complex structural, thermal, or flow conditions as required. Provide technical input to quotations, including design assumptions, materials, code requirements, manufacturability, technical risks, and supplier capability. Lead design-for-manufacturing reviews with OSP suppliers for forming, welding, machining, NDE, inspection, testing, and material handling. Review and disposition supplier RFIs, deviations, substitutions, drawing comments, and NCRs in coordination with Quality and Operations. Support PPAP and First Article Inspection through ballooned drawings, critical characteristics, inspection plans, acceptance criteria, and first-article review. Partner with Quality to define dimensional inspection, material traceability, weld/NDE, pressure-test, certification, and final documentation requirements. Ensure designs comply with ASME Section VIII and applicable Sections II, V, and IX, customer specifications, and internal standards. Support root-cause analysis and corrective actions; incorporate lessons learned into drawings, standards, and future designs.
