This position serves as a technical expert and project leader, supervises field crews, mentors' junior technicians, and acts as a primary technical resource for customers and management. Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, and control-system problems. Perform preventive maintenance, Inspections, troubleshooting, and major repairs on overhead cranes, hoists, runways, and related equipment. Troubleshoot PLCs, variable-frequency drives, radio controls, contactors, relays, motors, brakes, and automation systems. Lead major crane start-ups, modernizations, commissioning, and load-testing projects. Supervise and coordinate service and electrical, mechanical installations in the field. Review inspection findings and develop recommended repair scopes, labor estimates, material requirements, and project budgets. Interpret electrical schematics, engineering drawings, equipment manuals, and structural details. Identify mechanical, electrical, operational, and visible structural deficiencies. Perform root-cause analysis of equipment failures and recommend corrective actions. Communicate project status, findings, and repair recommendations clearly to customers and management. Train and mentor junior technicians in safe work practices, troubleshooting, repairs, and documentation. Complete accurate service reports, inspection records, timecards, and other required documentation. Ensure work complies with applicable OSHA, Cal/OSHA, ASME, CMAA, NEC, manufacturer, and company requirements. Maintain company tools, vehicles, equipment, assigned work areas in a safe and professional condition. Perform other approved service, project, customer-support, fabrication, and shop duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot complex equipment failures. Takes ownership of work & self-motivated person Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals. Strong leadership, customer-service, communication, and documentation skills. Ability to safely use diagnostic instruments, hand tools, power tools, aerial lifts, and rigging equipment. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Ability to travel to customer locations and work overtime, weekends, or emergency calls when required.
Education and Experience:
7+ years of overhead crane field service experience preferred Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and crane-control systems. Certifications OSHA 30-hour, Lockout/Tagout, Aerial-lift, forklift, Fall Protection, CPR. As applicable Knowledge of Cal / OHSA regulations.
Job Type:
Full-time. Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Pay:
$92,400.00 - $114,300.00 per year
