Position Summary Globe Trailers is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to support our Assembly operations. This position will be responsible for maintaining accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs), Work Orders, and Sales Orders, supporting the assembly line, resolving shop-floor engineering issues, and coordinating engineering changes. Key Responsibilities Create, review, update, and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs). Verify BOM accuracy against engineering drawings, 3D models, and production requirements. Provide day-to-day engineering support to the assembly line. Investigate and resolve BOM/Purchase parts issues involving fit-ups, dimensions, materials, components, and assembly. Review assembly line problems and determine appropriate corrective actions. Update drawings, models, and BOMs when engineering changes are required. Support Engineering Change Requests/Notices and ensure changes are properly communicated to Production. Work closely with the Assembly line, Purchasing, Planning, and Engineering to resolve material and BOM issues. Identify recurring Assembly line problems and recommend design or process improvements. Ensure released engineering information is complete and accurate before production begins. Support continuous improvement and standardization of existing products. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering field. Experience in a manufacturing or assembly line environment is preferred. Strong understanding of mechanical drawings, tolerances, and manufacturing processes. Experience creating and maintaining BOMs. Familiarity with CAD software;
CATIA/3DEXPERIENCE
experience is a plus. Understanding of pneumatic, wire harness, machining, hydraulics, and mechanical assemblies is preferred. Ability to troubleshoot problems and develop practical solutions in a production environment. Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with shop personnel. What We Are Looking For This is not strictly a desk-based design position. We are looking for an engineer who is willing to go to the shop floor, understand the problem, determine the root cause, and work with the assembly line to implement a solution. The successful candidate should be organized, responsive, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple assembly line issues while maintaining accurate engineering documentation.
Pay:
$56,769.03 - $88,367.00 per year
