Lead Mechanical Systems Engineer

Job Description

Imagine Your Week You start by shaping the mechanical architecture of a new product, building robust 3D models and production-ready drawings. Midweek, you're running advanced simulations to validate performance and reliability, then stepping into a design review to guide junior and mid-level engineers. You sync with electrical, software, and manufacturing partners, keep an eye on scope, schedule, and budget, and close the week approving prototypes and aligning suppliers and clients around the next build. Core Responsibilities Own the design, development, and optimization of complex mechanical systems and products from concept through implementation. Lead and manage large-scale engineering programs, ensuring delivery to timeline, cost, and specification targets. Serve as the technical authority, providing strategic direction and resolving high-impact engineering challenges. Plan and execute advanced simulations, testing, and analyses to elevate performance, durability, and reliability. Review and approve drawings, models, prototypes, and ECOs to ensure quality and manufacturability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams—electrical, software, and manufacturing—and coordinate with clients and suppliers. Mentor and coach junior and mid-level engineers on best practices, design reviews, and development methodologies. Continuously improve processes and stay current on emerging mechanical engineering methods and tools. What You Bring Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering. 7+ years of mechanical engineering experience with a demonstrable record of leading successful projects. Deep expertise in CAD (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and CAD/CAM workflows. Comprehensive knowledge of advanced mechanical design, analysis, and manufacturing techniques. Strong leadership, project management, and clear, proactive communication skills. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects concurrently across the full product development lifecycle. Hands-on experience with regulatory compliance and standards (ISO, ASME). Tools & Technologies You'll Use CNC automation solutions and manufacturing equipment. 3D modeling in AutoCAD and SolidWorks; 2D detailing and production drawings. Industrial controls and related integration. Core CAD software suites (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for design and documentation.
