Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Materials Test Engineer to join our innovative engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive material testing, analysis, and characterization to support product development, manufacturing processes, and quality assurance. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in materials science, process engineering, and CAD-based design tools to support product development, material selection, and process improvements across various manufacturing platforms. Responsibilities Design and execute material testing protocols to evaluate properties such as strength, durability and stress. Develop and optimize material selection processes based on project requirements and performance criteria. Utilize CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and other 3D modeling tools for product design and process engineering. Conduct statistical analysis of experimental data to identify trends, validate results, and support research conclusions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product development, manufacturing, and quality control to ensure material specifications are met. Maintain accurate documentation of test procedures, results, and analysis reports in compliance with industry standards such as ASME codes & standards. Support process engineering efforts related to plastics blow molding, injection molding, and fabrication techniques. Assist in the development of testing methodologies aligned with industry best practices for materials testing and quality assurance. Contribute to research & development projects aimed at advancing new materials or improving existing manufacturing processes. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field; advanced degrees. Familiarity with industry standards such as ASME codes & standards relevant to materials engineering. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with a proactive approach towards research & development initiatives. Skills StarTeam and Catia experience of reviewing proposed designs and workflows. Produced EAR approved test plans and results reports. Knowledge of Materials and Processes Engineering experience in selecting materials used in a pressurized and unpressurized environment. Have knowledge of materials containing chemical substances that are identified in any new international and national environmental regulation (REACH, TSCA, EPA); is a plus. Experience with revising materials and processes specifications. Works on engineering projects containing critical problems, the solution of which requires major technological advances and extensive related development. Ability to perform statistical analysis for research purposes along with data collection and interpretation skills. Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards for precise engineering documentation. Strong cross-functional communication skills to effectively collaborate across teams involved in product development and research initiatives. Awareness of industry standards such as ASME codes & standards applicable to materials testing and engineering practices. #IND1
