Director of Engineering Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer & BOM Specialist to join our Engineering team. This role combines mechanical design responsibilities with ownership of Bills of Material (BOMs), engineering data management, and product configuration control. The ideal candidate will have experience with Autodesk Inventor, BOM structures, engineering change processes, and CAD data management. Marine, manufacturing, or product development experience is a plus. Key Responsibilities Create, maintain, and validate Bills of Material (BOMs) for new and existing products. Design and develop components, assemblies, and systems using Autodesk Inventor and related CAD tools. Create and maintain part numbers, item masters, descriptions, and engineering metadata. Process Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and Engineering Change Requests (ECRs). Maintain CAD file structures, revision control, and engineering documentation. Support Autodesk Inventor, Vault/PDM, and ERP data alignment. Coordinate engineering releases with Purchasing, Production, Scheduling, Inventory Control, Warranty, and Customer Service. Review BOM accuracy prior to release. Support product configuration management across brands and model-year changes. Identify opportunities to improve engineering processes and automation workflows. Assist with prototype builds and troubleshooting design-related issues. Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, CAD Technology, or related field. Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical design, product engineering, or BOM administration. Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor and engineering drawing standards. Experience working with BOM structures, part numbering systems, and engineering release processes. Strong Microsoft Excel skills. Excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy. Strong communication and organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Autodesk Vault, PDM, or PLM systems. Experience with ERP/MRP systems. Understanding of revision control and engineering change management. Experience in marine, RV, automotive, or manufacturing environments. Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.
